This is officially the harshest winter I've taken part of in 28 years of life on this little blue planet. Four feet of snow in two months, now that is serious business. I spent Friday evening and the better part of Saturday going out every three to four hours and shoveling the driveway just to have a chance of staying ahead of the storm. The only hard part was waking up on Saturday morning to find that drifts had left over a foot of snow over the entire driveway. The rest was fairly mechanical. I did a pretty cool little project over the weekend and it turned out really well. I look forward to sharing it with the internet this week.

During the blizzard, it's obvious where I was: inside. And during much of that time, specifically when we were not watching television or staring out the window at Mother Nature throwing a hissy fit, I did play alot of video games. You know the name. Demon's Souls. As of last night I am on the last level of the game and I'll probably finish it tonight or tomorrow. I am torn, however, on whether I want to play through it again right after that, or whether I will come back to it later, after pushing the next game through the pipeline. These are the decisions that tear men apart on the inside. Do I play my favorite game from the past year again or do I play another game first? I have no idea how men of power make decisions of this magnitude on a daily basis.

I am glad I'm actually able to finish the game, because my save game got bugged out. Demon's Souls is many things, but unfortunately perfect is not one of them. There are some known bugs and issues, including one that struck me, which makes NPCs from the game vanish without a trace. Luckily, the guy that vanished, although very useful, was not critical to the plot and I was able to press on without him. Now I love this game, and I look forward to playing through it again... but I wanted to finish it first! And I shall.

Finally, last night was the game of games for the NFL. My pick was way wrong, but I think alot of people's picks were wrong. The Saints managed to put it all together in just the right way to defeat this season's near-perfect team. I find it hard to think of Peyton Manning as "the bad guy" in an NFL match, but he looked downright frustrated and angry last night. If you ever seem Tom Brady losing a game, you'll notice he looks like he gets really pissy and impatient and angry. I saw that in Peyton Manning last night and it was weird, since he always seems like such a wholesome football hero. Oh well, Peyton, you can't win them all, and you got shut down by Drew Brees and the first timers from New Orleans. At least it was a pretty good game, and between balls crossing the plane of the endzone while the receiver was upside down, and passes deflecting off of uprights, there was some crazy awesome stuff going on down there. Bravo, Superbowl teams, but mostly the Saints.

Now, for a real challenge, I'm going to see what work I can do today with nobody else in the office.
